Solid results and thrilling catch-ups for SHR in the sand of Mölln

Last weekend, the SHR Motorsports team travelled to the sweaty sandy terrain of Mölln for the second race of the ADAC MX Masters. A special challenge – not only because of the deep ground, but also because the 125cc class had to complete three races this time. The reason for this was that the 85cc class was not at the start this weekend.

On board for SHR Motorsports: Milko Potisek, Mike Stender and Emil Weckman in the premier class of the ADAC MX Masters and Dawid Zaremba in the Junior Cup 125, and the boys made a good start in qualifying on Saturday. All riders secured strong starting positions for the upcoming races. Particularly pleasing: Dawid Zaremba qualified in 6th place for an excellent starting position – a decisive advantage on the narrow track in Mölln.

The ‘big boys’ also did well in qualifying for qualifying group B: Milko Potisek drove to a strong fourth place, Emil Weckman secured 7th place and Mike Stender 16th despite slight health problems.

The first races finally got underway in the afternoon. Dawid Zaremba made the start. With a lightning-fast start, he catapulted himself straight into the top 5 – but then came the shock: Dawid was hit hard by an unfortunate contact and went down. Even worse – The bike was swept a few metres away from the race action and had to be searched for. From last place, with over a minute behind the second-last rider, he restarted the race. But Zaremba showed real fighting spirit and impressively fought his way up to 26th place.

In the Masters class, Milko Potisek took a solid tenth place in the first race, while Emil Weckman quickly established himself in the top 15 and eventually crossed the finish line in 13th place. Mike Stender fought his way through and finished his race in 23rd place.

Race Sunday

Sunday was all about catching up and top performances. Milko Potisek proved his class and finished a strong race in 5th place. Emil Weckman scored an impressive 8th place, while Mike Stender finished in 12th place with a strong performance – an absolute top performance despite suffering from symptoms of a cold.

Dawid Zaremba also showed what he is made of in the second race. After a dream start and thrilling duels, he saw the chequered flag in a very strong 5th place.

For the first time, a third race was also held in the Junior Cup 125 – a first for the class this season. Dawid Zaremba got off to another strong start and was in the top 10 right from the start, finishing in 10th place and a very respectable 11th overall this weekend.

Things got exciting once again in the Masters class: all three SHR riders came out of the starting gate in excellent form and found themselves in the leading group. But bad racing luck hit again: Milko Potisek was thrown back a long way after a collision on the first lap. But the Frenchman was not downhearted and started a wild chase to catch up – with 14th place at the end and ninth overall on the weekend.

Emil Weckman unfortunately had to give up his strong fifth place shortly before the end, but still finished sixth and ended the weekend in a very good seventh place, which was his best race result of the current season.

Things went very badly for Mike Stender: the local hero put his heart and soul into working his way up to 9th place. However, a technical error while refuelling forced him to give up four laps before the end. Until then, Stender had put in one of the best races of his career. Of course, something like that shouldn’t happen – but we’re all human and mistakes are part of the game. Nevertheless, he finished a conciliatory 20th in the overall standings.

The SHR Motorsports team drew attention to itself in Mölln with an impressive mentality and strong individual performances. Despite setbacks and challenges, all the riders showed what they are able to do.
